QUAKERS DOUBLE JOINTED (FEAT. THE KOREATOWN ODDITY)

Quakers hip-hop collective have produced a new album Quakers II: The Next Wave, with an exciting array of artist collaborators, the first is 'Double Jointed (feat. The Koreatown Oddity)'. The new track is a highly moving piece of music that's set within dramatic drums, unsettling organ and Americana-esque guitar. Koreatown's vocals are a peaceful protest against the catastrophic racism and ignorance that black people face. Poetic and stirring, his lines sting with deep-rooted pain and injustice that truly speak for themselves: 'White folks with rifles walk out in cuffs'...'sometimes prayer and bible ain't enough for the dark-skinned n**** that don't hide from the sun'...'this ain't no spray tan or reverse vitiligo, it's my permanent skin that I didn't decide on...oh it's the 200s now? you gotta convince me, they do lynchings though the media now, you know, slander, assassination of character.'. Check out 'Double Jointed (feat. The Koreatown Oddity)', released via Stones Throw. -Ellie Rose-Davies
